How much is a private flu jab? +
The flu vaccine is £50 per dose; some children need two doses a few weeks apart (£100 for both). The Covid-19 vaccine is £100 per course. Prices are the same for adults and children.
Who should have a flu jab or Covid vaccine? +
Anyone who wants to lower their risk of flu or Covid-19 can have a private vaccine, adults and children alike. If you're eligible for a free NHS vaccine — for example because of your age, a long-term health condition or pregnancy — you can also get it through your GP or a pharmacy. The nurse checks your health, medicines and allergies before vaccinating.
When is the best time to have the flu jab? +
Flu vaccines are usually given in the autumn, before flu tends to spread most widely over winter. It's still worth having later in the season if you missed the autumn. A vaccine lowers your risk but can't guarantee you won't get ill.
Can I have the flu jab and Covid vaccine at the same visit? +
Yes, the two vaccines can usually be given at the same appointment. The nurse will confirm it's suitable for you before going ahead.
Can I have the flu jab if I have a cold? +
A mild cold isn't usually a reason to wait. If you have a fever or feel unwell, it's better to rebook for when you've recovered — call us and we'll move your appointment.
Do I need a GP referral? +
No — you can book directly for yourself or your child, with no GP letter or registration needed.
