Dr Arvin Rodrigues
Consultant Clinical Neurophysiologist · GMC 6079103
Is Dr Rodrigues a neurologist? +
He is a consultant clinical neurophysiologist: a doctor in the neurology field who specialises in diagnosing problems of the nerves, muscles and brain with tests such as nerve conduction studies, EMG and EEG. He is not a general neurologist, so he does not run a general neurology clinic for every brain condition.
What problems does he see? +
Numbness, tingling or weakness in the hands, arms, legs or feet; carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome; peripheral neuropathy; trapped nerves from the spine; nerve and plexus injuries after an accident; suspected epilepsy and unexplained blackouts, investigated with an EEG; and dystonia that may be helped by toxin injections.
What should I see someone else for? +
Headaches and migraine, multiple sclerosis (MS) and stroke care belong with your GP, the NHS or a general neurologist. If you notice signs of a stroke — a drooping face, a weak arm or slurred speech — call 999 straight away.
How much does it cost? +
There is no standalone consultation fee: the consultation is included in the nerve study price — £450 for the arms, £500 for the legs and £550 for both, with Dr Rodrigues's written report. An EEG is £550 and toxin treatment for dystonia starts from £450.
Do I need a GP referral? +
No — you can book with Dr Rodrigues yourself. A letter from your GP or surgeon is still welcome, as are any scans or earlier nerve test results.
How far is the clinic from Chester? +
