When should I get a mole checked? +
Book a check if a mole is new and looks different from your others, or if an existing one changes in size, shape or colour, has an irregular edge, becomes itchy or crusty, or starts to bleed. If you're unsure, it's always reasonable to have it looked at.
How much does it cost to remove a mole? +
A skin consultation is £200. Removing up to three moles or skin tags with histology is £850, including the laboratory report, follow-up and wound care. A suspected skin cancer excision is £950, and a single punch biopsy £100.
How are moles removed? +
The skin is numbed with a local anaesthetic, then the mole is cut out and the wound closed, usually with a few stitches. The tissue is sent to the laboratory, and you're seen again to discuss the result and check healing.
Can I have a skin tag removed? +
Yes. Dr Alsaadi can remove skin tags for £475 where laboratory analysis isn't needed; if she'd like a tag analysed, it can be included in the £850 excision package.
Will mole removal leave a scar? +
Any excision leaves a small scar, usually a fine line. Dr Alsaadi explains the likely size and position before you agree to go ahead.
Do I need a GP referral? +
No — you can book a mole check directly. If your GP has already examined the mole, bring any letter or photos, as they help track changes.
